What does Blood Pressure mean and why do we care?
Another opportunity for the San Diego Association for Men in Nursing to help shape the future generations of nursing and healthcare workers in San Diego!
Most teens have seen a blood pressure cuff and a sphygmomanometer, but how many know how it works or can even pronounce it for that matter?
In collaboration with Grossmont Unified High School District Health Career Pathways, we have created some comprehensive, creative, and engaging curriculum to bring Blood Pressure education and understanding to our local high school health career pathways students.
We brought together nursing students and licensed nursing professionals to a local high school for an educational opportunity. After an engaging lecture in small breakout groups, our volunteers engaged directly with high school students—sparking curiosity, building confidence, and hopefully, inspiring a young person to pursue a nursing career that could transform their life and the lives of their families.
