CPR for Health Career Pathways HS Students – 12.11.25

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), 90% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims will die without immediate intervention. Performing CPR right away can triple a victim’s chance of survival (AHA, 2024).

The San Diego Association for Men in Nursing is committed to addressing this dire statistic. We believe it is time to take action to share this lifesaving skill with our community.

In collaboration with Grossmont Unified High School District Health Career Pathways, we have created some comprehensive, creative, and engaging curriculum to bring CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to our local high school health career pathways students. With proper technique and knowing the signs for the need for resuscitation, our local teenagers will have the potential to become our local heroes.

On December 11, 2025, we visited a local high school to deliver this essential training. We provided students with hands-on CPR instruction and crucial information on recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest and bystander intervention. Our goal was to empower these students with the skills and confidence to step up in an emergency.
