Adam Brotman
President/Founder
San Diego Association for Men in Nursing
Adam Brotman RN, BSN is a graduate from Grand Canyon University. He also has a B.S. in Business Management from San Diego State University, previously working in the experiential marketing and event production sectors. He started this organization during nursing school and is humbled by its growth and emersion into the San Diego community. He is driven by the aspiration of creating a fully diverse nursing workforce that is reflective of the population it serves.
Adrian Dones Pedriquez
Treasurer
Adrian Dones Pedriquez earned his Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Southwestern College and is concurrently enrolled in Grand Canyon University's RN-to-BSN program. With a decade of experience working in finance, he aims to utilize the skills acquired to help SDAMN set themselves up for success. His career switch into nursing stems from wanting to be involved in something bigger than himself. He believes that SDAMN provides an opportunity to positively impact the local community.
Charlene Barrett
Education Intern
San Diego Association for Men in Nursing
Charlene Barrett is an RN student at MiraCosta College (Until 12/25!) with a clear focus on education and community outreach. A San Diego native, she is currently pursuing her second career after spending over a decade providing individualized childcare to families across the country.
Charlene is an intern to the SDAMN Education Department, where she actively helps lead the Association's Blood Pressure courses at local high schools, in addition to designing the lecture slides. She provides dynamic small-group instruction, utilizing tailored scaffolding to effectively build student confidence and practical expertise in a critical healthcare skill.
Her goal through SDAMN is to enhance outreach, promote health education, and help mentor the next generation of diverse healthcare professionals in the San Diego community.
Tania Jones

Sharp Grossmont Hospital
Tania Jones, MSN, RN, CCRN, NE-BC is a seasoned nurse leader with over 22 years of experience and currently serves as a nursing manager at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, overseeing three high-acuity departments and more than 200 staff. She is pursuing her DNP in Healthcare Leadership at Point Loma Nazarene University. Tania brings extensive board experience through leadership roles with NAHN San Diego, SDAMN, NALHE San Diego, and ACNL San Diego, where she contributes to strategic planning, member engagement, and community outreach. A passionate advocate for nursing and health equity, she volunteers 40–60 hours monthly on education and wellness initiatives and is an active member of multiple professional organizations.
Julie Ho
Education VP
San Diego Association for Men in Nursing
Born and raised in Orange County, Julie Ho earned her BSN from Loma Linda University in 2019 and is currently pursuing an MSN in Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist at the University of Southern Indiana. With a passion for education and community service, she has served in leadership roles including VP of Education for the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement, VP of Community Service and later President of Loma Linda's Associated Students of Nursing. As SDAMN's Vice President of Education, Julie is committed to supporting professional growth, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring the next generation of nurses.

Nathan Barrete

Nathan Barrete was born and raised in Chula Vista, California. Nathan received his Associated Degree in Nursing at Southwestern College. Nathan is currently pursing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at San Diego State University. He aspires to become a registered nurse and work in the Emergency Department. Nathan has a history of working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a Behavior Technician. Nathan joined the San Diego Association for Men in Nursing because he wanted to be able to talk about the difficult conversations regarding men in nursing.
Louisa Sena

Louisa Sena is currently pursuing both an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) through Southwestern College as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through Grand Canyon University. With over a decade of experience working in the medical field as a Medical Assistant and Office Manager, she aims to utilize her experience and passion for healthcare to support her fellow nursing colleagues
