Dear Friends, Family, Sponsors, and Speakers:

We cannot begin to express how awe inspiring it was to see all of you show up in support of the restart of our blossoming organization, the San Diego Association for Men in Nursing.

After more than 365 days of collaboration, negotiating, and even sometimes praying, the culmination of all our hard work has paid off. Most of all we could not have done any of this without you.

In just 3 months, we have cleaned our local beaches, reached 6 nursing programs and multiple major San Diego hospitals, and raised hundreds of dollars for a local charity. We know that in some way the cruelty and pain of addiction has affected all our lives and together we raised over $500 in physical and monetary donations in one night to help dispel this darkness from our community through kindness and generosity.

We heard the powerful words of Director Denise Lozares and the inspiring story of Senior Director of Nursing Dr. Gerard Phillips. We had delicious Filippis Italian food, had an adventurous scavenger hunt, and handed out some amazing prizes all of which came from the support of the University of San Diego, Grand Canyon University, and Azusa Pacific University. Also, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location generously donated by the gentlemen of WestPac Wealth partners, Andrew Rogel and Kimelton Kim.

This is what diversity and hope for our future and the future of nursing looks like. Gender, race, or religion does not matter only the intentions of the heart to make this field of healthcare a nurturing place for EVERYONE.

Our hearts are filled, and our vision is laser focused because there is nothing we can’t accomplish when embraced by the love and support of YOU, our people.

With Endless Gratitude,

Adam Brotman
President, S.D.A.M.N.
