BP…”What Does It Mean” for Health Career Pathways HS Students – 12.05.25

What does Blood Pressure mean and why do we care?

Another opportunity for the San Diego Association for Men in Nursing to help shape the future generations of nursing and healthcare workers in San Diego. Most children have seen a blood pressure cuff and a sphygmomanometer, but how many know how it works or can even pronounce it for that matter. In collaboration with Grossmont Unified High School District Health Career Pathways, we have created some comprehensive, creative, and engaging curriculum to bring Blood Pressure measuring and understanding to our local high school health career pathways students.

We brought together nursing students and licensed nursing professionals to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of healthcare workers. Through small breakout groups, our volunteers engaged directly with students—sparking curiosity, building confidence, and, in many cases, inspiring a young person to pursue a nursing career that could transform their life and the lives of their families.
